The Machame route, known for its stunning scenery and relatively high success rate, is a popular choice for those aiming to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. Over 7 days, this journey takes you through lush rainforests, alpine deserts, and rocky ridges, culminating in a rewarding summit at Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa.

Itinerary
​
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
​
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to your hotel in Moshi, and attend a pre-climb briefing with your trekking company. Complete a final gear check and preparation for the climb.

Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
​
Drive from Moshi to Machame Gate (1-2 hours), complete park formalities, and begin your trek through the lush rainforest. Ascend through dense vegetation to reach Machame Camp (3,000 meters) after 5-7 hours of trekking.

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
​
Continue trekking through the thinning rainforest and enter the moorland zone, where unique plant life thrives. Ascend through rocky ridges and valleys to reach Shira Camp (3,840 meters) after 4-6 hours of trekking.

Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
​
Trek across the Shira Plateau, enjoying expansive views of the surrounding landscapes. Ascend to Lava Tower (4,600 meters) for acclimatization before descending via the Barranco Wall, a challenging yet rewarding climb. Arrive at Barranco Camp (3,950 meters) after 6-8 hours of trekking.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
​
Continue your trek through the alpine desert, traversing the Karanga Valley. Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters), the final base camp before the summit attempt. Spend the rest of the day resting, hydrating, and eating a hearty meal in preparation for the summit push. The trek takes approximately 7-9 hours.

Day 6: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak, then Descend to Mweka Camp
​
Begin your summit attempt around midnight, trekking through steep and challenging terrain. Reach Stella Point (5,685 meters) at the crater rim before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters). The total trekking time for the day is 11-15 hours.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
​
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates. Transfer back to Moshi or Arusha to celebrate your accomplishment with a well-deserved meal and rest. Depart from Tanzania or continue with further travel plans.

A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charges), this is non-refundable.

Balance Payment

Balance can be paid via bank transfer, online card payment, or with cash.

Bank payment can be done 15 days prior to the tour date (recommended 30 days prior).

Trek can be postponed to any new date without any extra cost at any point in time.
