Overview

This 6-day Big Five Safari adventure takes you through three of Tanzania’s most iconic safari destinations: Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. The journey begins in Tarangire, famous for its large elephant herds and striking baobab trees. You’ll then venture to the legendary Serengeti, where the vast plains are teeming with wildlife, including lions, leopards, and the famous Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras.

Your adventure continues with a visit to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder home to an astonishing variety of animals, including rare black rhinos. This safari offers prime opportunities to spot Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), along with a host of other incredible species. Luxurious lodges, immersive game drives, and breathtaking landscapes make this safari an unforgettable experience for wildlife enthusiasts.

Itinerary

​

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

​

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. The day is for rest after your journey or an optional Arusha town tour depending on your arrival time.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

​

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and majestic baobab trees. During your afternoon game drive, you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and various antelope species, all set against the park’s dramatic landscapes. Keep an eye out for the unique tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti)

​

After a morning game drive in Tarangire, you’ll head towards the famous Serengeti National Park via the scenic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy a game drive en route as you enter the Serengeti, where endless plains stretch out before you. Spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and predators like lions and cheetahs in the Central Serengeti.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

​

Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti, home to the largest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. The day will be filled with game drives as you search for the Big Five, including elusive leopards lounging in the trees, and witness the iconic Serengeti plains teeming with life. You’ll also have the chance to see the herds of wildebeest and zebras that make the park famous.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

​

Enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before heading towards the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. En route, you may choose to visit a traditional Maasai village to learn more about their fascinating culture. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim in the late afternoon, with panoramic views of the crater floor.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration & Return to Arusha

​

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, and buffalo. You’ll likely encounter lions lazing in the sun and may even spot the rare black rhino. After a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the crater, begin your journey back to Arusha for your evening departure or overnight stay.

What to Bring

  • Clothing: Light, breathable clothing for the day; warm layers for early mornings and evenings

  • Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes or boots

  • Accessories: Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a camera with extra batteries

  • Documents: Passport, visa, travel insurance, and any required permits

Payment Terms​

Deposit Payment
  • Deposit is 20% of the total booking amount.

  • Deposit can be paid either via a bank transfer or an online card payment.

  • A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charges), this is non-refundable.

  • We offer bank accounts in 10 different currencies for bank transfer.

  • Once you make the advance payment you will receive a booking confirmation.

Balance Payment
  • Balance can be paid via bank transfer, online card payment, or with cash.

  • Bank payment can be done 15 days prior to the tour date (recommended 30 days prior).

  • Card Payment can be done 1 day prior to the tour date (recommended 7 days prior).

  • A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charge), this is non-refundable.

  • Cash can be paid on arrival (USD printed in or after the year 2009).

Cancellation Policy​

8 days and above departure
  • No cancellation fees.

​

0 to 7 days before departure
  • 50% of the total tour price will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • Trek can be postponed to any new date without any extra cost at any point in time.

  • The 5% surcharge paid for either or both advance and balance payments is non-refundable in case of cancellation of the trek.

Supplements

  • Solo Supplement = USD 30
    Charged for solo trekkers throughout the year.

  • Off-season supplement = USD 90
    Charged for solo trekkers looking to start a new departure in March, April, May, and November. Does not apply if you join an existing group. Does not apply if other trekkers also join your new group.
