7 Days Trekking Mount Kilimanjaro Via Rongai Route.

Embark on a 7-day Kilimanjaro Rongai route journey. Trek through diverse landscapes, reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m) on summit day. The itinerary includes accommodation, meals, and guide services, excluding international flights, visas, and personal expenses.

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA)

  • Transfer to hotel in Moshi

  • Attend a pre-climb briefing with your trekking company

  • Final gear check and preparation

Day 2: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

  • Drive from Moshi to Rongai Gate (3-4 hours)

  • Complete park formalities at the gate

  • Begin trekking through dense rainforest

  • Reach Simba Camp at around 2,750 meters

  • Enjoy the lush surroundings and rest at the camp

  • Trekking time: 3-4 hours

Day 3: Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp

  • Continue trekking through the rainforest, which gradually thins out

  • Enter the moorland zone with unique plant life

  • Ascend through rolling hills and valleys

  • Reach Second Cave at around 3,450 meters

  • Continue to Kikelewa Camp at around 3,600 meters

  • Trekking time: 6-7 hours

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn

  • Continue ascending through alpine desert terrain

  • Enjoy stunning views of Mawenzi Peak

  • Arrive at Mawenzi Tarn at around 4,330 meters

  • Trekking time: 3-4 hours

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut

  • Cross the "Saddle" between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks

  • Ascend through alpine desert terrain

  • Arrive at Kibo Hut at around 4,700 meters

  • Rest and prepare for the summit attempt

  • Trekking time: 5-6 hours

Day 6: Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, then descend to Horombo Hut

  • Begin summit attempt around midnight

  • Trek through steep and challenging terrain, including Gilman's Point (5,681 meters)

  • Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa, for sunrise

  • Descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest and breakfast

  • Continue descent to Horombo Hut at around 3,720 meters

  • Trekking time: 11-15 hours

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

  • Descend through rainforest

  • Reach Marangu Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates

  • Transfer back to Moshi/Arusha

  • Celebrate your achievement with a well-deserved meal and rest

  • Trekking time: 5-6 hours
