This 4-day Honey Badger Safari takes you through the heart of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife destinations—the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll experience the breathtaking landscapes of the Serengeti with its endless plains and incredible wildlife, followed by an exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder known for its high concentration of animals, including the Big Five. This short yet immersive safari is perfect for those seeking a rich wildlife experience in a limited time.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Central Serengeti

After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, depart for the Serengeti National Park, driving through the scenic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you enter the Serengeti, the vast plains spread out before you, teeming with wildlife. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through the Central Serengeti, known for its rich wildlife year-round, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and more.

Day 2: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. Begin with an early morning game drive when predators are most active. The Serengeti is renowned for its large predator population and the diverse herbivore species that roam its plains. You’ll have a full day of game drives, allowing plenty of opportunities to witness the “circle of life” in action. Look out for lions on the prowl, leopards resting in trees, and large herds of herbivores grazing the open plains.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast and a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, you’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll enjoy more wildlife sightings as you pass through the vast plains. You may opt to visit a traditional Maasai village en route to learn about the unique Maasai culture and lifestyle. Arrive at your lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim in the late afternoon, where you can relax and take in the stunning views of the crater below.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning for a half-day game drive. The crater’s diverse ecosystem is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo). You’ll likely encounter large herds of buffalo and elephants, as well as hippos wallowing in the crater lakes and flamingos lining the shores. With a bit of luck, you may even spot the elusive black rhino. After a picnic lunch in the crater, you will ascend and begin your return journey to Arusha for your evening departure or overnight stay.

What to Bring

  • Clothing: Light, breathable clothing for the day; warm layers for early mornings and evenings

  • Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes or boots

  • Accessories: Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a camera with extra batteries

  • Documents: Passport, visa, travel insurance, and any required permits

Payment Terms​

Deposit Payment
  • Deposit is 20% of the total booking amount.

  • Deposit can be paid either via a bank transfer or an online card payment.

  • A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charges), this is non-refundable.

  • We offer bank accounts in 10 different currencies for bank transfer.

  • Once you make the advance payment you will receive a booking confirmation.

Balance Payment
  • Balance can be paid via bank transfer, online card payment, or with cash.

  • Bank payment can be done 15 days prior to the tour date (recommended 30 days prior).

  • Card Payment can be done 1 day prior to the tour date (recommended 7 days prior).

  • A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charge), this is non-refundable.

  • Cash can be paid on arrival (USD printed in or after the year 2009).

Cancellation Policy

8 days and above departure
  • No cancellation fees.

0 to 7 days before departure
  • 50% of the total tour price will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • Trek can be postponed to any new date without any extra cost at any point in time.

  • The 5% surcharge paid for either or both advance and balance payments is non-refundable in case of cancellation of the trek.

Supplements

  • Solo Supplement = USD 30
    Charged for solo trekkers throughout the year.

  • Off-season supplement = USD 90
    Charged for solo trekkers looking to start a new departure in March, April, May, and November. Does not apply if you join an existing group. Does not apply if other trekkers also join your new group.
